Amazing handwoven poncho/ top. The flowers make it to perfection and don’t forget about those tassels, yum. The fabric is just a fabulous piece of art, with even a little golden tread woven into it on the sides, very subtle. The handwoven fabric and embroidered floral motifs suggest it is an artisan-made piece, possibly woven on a backstrap loom, a technique used for centuries by Indigenous weavers in Mesoamerica. The flowers are all but subtle and really bring joy! The bright colors, floral embroidery, and woven tassels are characteristic of traditional clothing from regions like Chiapas (Mexico) or Guatemala. The floral embroidery may symbolize nature, fertility, or specific local traditions.
